When is the best time to sell my home?

As real estate agents, we are often asked the question, "when is the best time to sell my home?" Another statement often heard by sellers or would be sellers is this time of year is, "I want to wait to spring to list my home."  

Sellers seem to have good reason to do so. I mean who wants a bunch of people traipsing through their home during the holidays? There will be more buyers in the springtime, right? 

So is springtime the best time put your home on the market? Well, there usually are more buyers in the springtime. Well, there is also usually more competition in the springtime too. Ask any retailer when there are more buyers than product prices go up. Supply and Demand.  So maybe waiting till springtime is not the best move. 

What do the numbers say? Well in the past year in Medina County the three biggest weeks of new contracts vs new listings were the weeks ending Dec 23 2016, Nov  18 2016, and Sep 15 2017.
